Do you use videos on a weekly basis as a way to market your business?

I must admit that this is the only area of marketing that I lack. Look, it’s not that I didn’t know I needed to make videos. 10 hours of video are uploaded every minute, every day on YouTube. 52% of YouTube members return weekly. The median income for YouTubers is $74,000 with disposable income and a college education.

So yes, it is foolish of me or YOU not to use this as a marketing tool.

However, an associate shared something with me that I didn’t know he felt. He said that he felt similar to what I felt when he started making videos. At first, she didn’t like how she talked, how she looked (and by the way she’s beautiful, so this is funny), she was uncomfortable with what she said and how to say it, etc, etc. Well, I sensed that she felt the same way, so I kept putting this part of my marketing funnel off. It’s weird because I enjoy public speaking and do quite a few teleclasses on a monthly basis, but I felt uncomfortable in front of a camera.

So if you can relate, but want to capture some of this amazing market that is addicted to video, here are some suggestions:

  • Make a video every day for a week and just practice.
  • In the second week, whatever you think of the video, post it on your YouTube channel, FB, or blog.
  • If at this point you say “No way, I’m not doing this”, then use your photos and your voice to make a video. People will still be able to connect with you.
  • Keep your videos under 2 minutes
  • Share an experience. Share something you have learned. Share good content. Just share!
  • Have a call to action at the end of your videos to click a link to rate, comment, or subscribe, or perhaps a product or service you have.
  • Schedule your video in your weekly marketing schedule, ie # of blogs, # of articles, # of videos, # of FB/Twitter comments, what you will post weekly and when. Start small and then add to this as you grow.

This is what you will start to experience:

  • You will start to attract customers who can better connect and relate to you
  • Your ability to communicate will improve enormously.
  • Your message will start to be so much more powerful because people will feel like they almost know you now that they can put a face with your voice, not just read the words.
  • Your message goes from one to many, leveraging your time and attracting more customers
  • You start to be okay with you, flaws and all
  • This will also help you in other areas of your business because you will feel more comfortable in your daily interaction.
  • You will also feel more comfortable speaking in public.

I’ve seen videos that lead to new business owners with no customers having an amazing following. Find your niche, be sincere and authentic with who you are, and you will start making connections all over the world.

Please keep an eye on my videos and let me know how your experience was and your success too!
