In the early hours of September 26, 2008, I had two dreams that prompted me to do something I had never done before. God instructed my wife and I to close our business for that day and spend the entire day praying for our nation. This is the day our leaders must make God-given decisions to save our nation from financial disaster. The scriptures that God instructed us to pray are in II Kings Chapters 18-20. As we studied the scriptures above, we saw exactly what to pray and talk about for our nation in difficult times.

Hezekiah, king of Judah, was a man who followed the commandments of the Lord according to his father David.

II Kings 3-7 says, And he did what it was upright in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.

4 He removed the high places, and broke the images, and felled the forests, and broke into pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for the children of Israel burned incense until those days, and he called it Nehushtan.

5 He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, neither none who were before him.

6 Because he clung to the LORD, Y he did not turn away from following him, but kept his commandments that the LORD commanded Moses.

7 And the LORD was with him; Y he prospered in everything that came out; and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and did not serve him.

Because of Hezekiah’s commitment to the Lord and rebelling against the king of Assyria, who by the way is a type and shadow of Satan and his kingdom, the king of Assyria came against Hezekiah and exalted himself against God saying that God could not deliver him from His hand . The king of Assyria even told the people under Hezekiah that if they served him they would be well served. The king of Assyria also demanded that King Hezekiah, king of Judah, pay him silver and gold. Out of fear, Hezekiah handed over all the silver and gold from the house of the Lord and the king’s house, up to the roof that was over the gates and the pillars.

Today we must pray that the leaders of our nation do not move from fear and deliver this nation to the Assyrian and its system of finances. Our nation is a godly nation and God is the provider of our nation, not this worldly financial system that is bound to fail. We must pray that the leaders of our nation will be granted wisdom to make godly and correct decisions in this time of trouble.

II Kings 19:3 declared by Hezekiah, This day is a day of troubleand of rebuke and blasphemy: because the children have come to birth and there is no strength to give birth.

Our nation is in a weak state right now. We must pray that the leadership has the strength to birth the answers that will lead us back to a strong nation. The word says, let the weak say, I am strong.
This nation and the leadership of this nation must trust in God to deliver us from the hand of the Assyrian. We have no business trying to fix a faulty system. We need a new system ordained by God, born through the prayer of His saints from the truth of His word. Psalms 20:1-2 states Jehovah hear you in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defends you; 2 Send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you from ZionThe praying saints are the strength of the sanctuary and it is our prayers that will strengthen the leadership of our strong nation.

As we see in II Kings Chapter 19, Hezekiah prayed and the Lord heard his words and delivered the nation of Judah from the hand of the Assyrians. His great army was destroyed by an angel, 185,000 men, in one night while they slept and the king of Assyria was killed by his own sons.

We should also pray that the leaders of our nation play their hand close to the chest. In other words, we as a nation do not need to let the whole world know about our success, treasures and riches or the strength of our armor.

Notice II Kings 20 where the king of Babylon sent gifts to Hezekiah because he heard he was sick on the verge of death. (Hezekiah prayed again and God healed him and gave him 15 more years.) The king of Babylon was setting him up, asking after all the riches and riches and armor of him. In the next portion of Scripture we read,

At that time, Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, because he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

13 And Hezekiah listened to them and showed them the whole house of his precious things, the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious ointment, and the whole house of his weapons, and all that was found in his treasures. : There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah did not despoil from them.

14 Then came the prophet Isaiah to King Hezekiah, and said to him: What did these men say? And where did they come to you? And Hezekiah said: They come from a distant land, from Babylon.

15 And he said: What have they seen in your house? And Hezekiah answered: All the things that are in my house have seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not poured out.

16 And Isaiah said to Hezekiah: Hear the word of the Lord.

17 Behold, the days are coming when everything that is in your house, and everything that your fathers have stored up to this day, will be taken to Babylon; nothing will remain, says the Lord.

18 And of your children that are born of you, that you beget, they will take away from you; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

Because Hezekiah had been so generous with information, he fell captive to the king of Babylon, who by the way is a type and shadow of the worldly financial system of the wicked nations. Once again, we must pray that our nation’s leaders will have wisdom in this area. So that we can keep what is ours. We need to pray that the wealth that has been given to ungodly nations will return to our nation. God is our provider, not the Babylonian financial system.

Now notice in the final verses on Hezekiah’s life in II Kings 20:19 how he was deceived into believing a lie about peace and truth. Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah: Good is the word of the Lord that you have spoken. And he said: Is it not good that there be peace and truth in my days?

The answer to Hezekiah’s question is NO, it is not good for our wealth and sons and daughters to be handed over to this worldly system of bad finances. We will not sacrifice our sons and daughters because we do not pray for the leadership of our great nation. WE PRAY, NOW.

Remember when you pray for our great nation, always pray the ANSWER. Never pray the problem. Find scriptures in God’s word about our nation and pray God’s word to Him. These are the prayers that are sure to be answered. Speak the word of God over this nation. You will quickly keep his word. Jeremiah 1:12, And the Lord said to me, Well have you seen; because I will hasten my word to fulfill it.
