First let me tell you that you are not alone! That child you are waiting for is also waiting for you. God is not punishing you. Nothing is wrong with you – this is one of your first mistakes – believing that you are someone to “fix”. Without procreation, our world would cease to exist. This is how you know you are destined to have a child. That is not to say that there are no families created by adoption, or that there are no couples who prefer not to have children. Families come in all different forms. But if your wholehearted desire is to get pregnant, I can help you.

After several years of trying to design on our own, we decided to find out why we weren’t designing. According to the reproductive endochronologist, my husband had a low sperm count. It was so low that we were told our chances of designing on our own were slim to none. The doctor’s recommendation was to try intrauterine insemination for 6 months. If we were unlucky, we would look to add fertility drugs.

The first time we did an Intrauterine Insemination, my husband’s count was 5200 and 60% of the sperm were malformed. A normal sperm count is 20,000. At that time, I did not know anything about infertility. I researched methods to increase sperm count and improve sperm health. We tried zinc, vitamin B, and L-carnitine supplements. His sperm count increased, but only slightly to 7100. Sperm morphology and motility increased by 20%. We couldn’t get pregnant using Intrauterine Insemination.

The doctors decided to put me on clomid even though all my tests came back good. Not knowing much about infertility drugs, I agreed to try the regimen. Clomid made me nauseous, cranky and had constant hot flashes. We still haven’t succeeded. After 6 months on clomid, the doctor suggested injectable medication. We agreed to try this out of desperation. After 6 months and thousands of dollars spent, I started researching the medications I had been taking. I was concerned about taking the infertility meds as according to my blood work I was ovulating well. It seemed like the doctor’s goal was to increase my number of ovules to increase the number of targets. I didn’t think this was the answer.

We decided to take a break and reevaluate our lives. Our marriage was strained. I have a hard time admitting this, but I blamed it on my husband. I felt like maybe he just didn’t love it enough. Those who suffer from infertility despair and blame everyone and everything. Trust me, I get it. I was there. Due to the turmoil in our marriage, we felt we had to put our dreams of having a child on hold. We decided to work on our marriage without trying or preventing conception. Sex was fun again. Before this, it was a task to complete. We fall in love again and remember why we got married in the first place. We continued to pray for the children, but they were not the center of our lives.

Four years later, we felt the need to decide whether to give him another chance or consider adoption. We discovered a book that explains the causes of infertility and how to overcome them using Ancient Chinese Medicine. My husband and I follow it to the letter. Two months later, we went back to the doctor to start the Intrauterine Insemination process again, hoping to have increased her counts a bit with the techniques. His semen analysis showed a sperm count of 26,000 and morphology and motility had increased by 75%! That may not sound like a huge increase, but the doctors were delighted! They suggested we go ahead with the intrauterine insemination, but first they needed to do a blood test on me since I was on cycle day 3, which is the perfect time to check a woman’s estrogen level. We left the doctor’s office and went to have lunch. While we were having lunch, the Reproductive Endochronologist called and said that she had some very interesting news. Instead of just checking my estrogen level, she requested a full report on my blood work. She had an HCG level of 966, indicating a very healthy pregnancy! She was confused because she was on day 3 of my period cycle and she responded by saying that many women have implants early in their pregnancy that can mimic a period. I couldn’t believe it was true.
