Article marketing is one way to drive traffic to your website. If all goes well, it will not only make you visit, but also buy something! That’s the whole point of doing it anyway. It’s a simple way to get your articles published and listed on the major search engines, and it’s ridiculously easy to do.

The first step: write the articles

It all starts with your content. You will need to write your own articles or hire an article ghostwriter to do them for you. It all depends on how much time and money you have. Some people find it time consuming and outsourced to write their own articles. Others enjoy creating their own content and enjoy the process of learning how to write good text.

Articles should have eye-catching titles using your keywords as close to the beginning as possible. The body of the article should be easy to read, interesting, informative, and relevant. Remember that the goal is to engage the reader, show them that you know what you are talking about, and make them read to the end and click on your link. If you’re unsure of your ability to write good text, you can always find a good article ghostwriter to do it for you.

Submit your articles

The next step is to submit your article. There are thousands of article directories, but what you need to do is pick a few and focus on them. Find article directories that attract a lot of traffic and submit to them. Shipping takes some time, so don’t use too many. There is article submission software that will submit your article to hundreds of directories at the touch of a button, but they are not very reliable and are often tagged as “spam” by sites.

These sites are considered expert sites, which means they rank highly on Google and other search engines. If you put your keyword to good use, write high-quality articles, and submit them regularly to directories, they’ll show up in search engines, and you’ll start to see the traffic coming in.

Good content links, bad content sucks

A word of caution though: lousy content won’t attract anyone to your site. By “lousy content” I mean things that are horribly spelled with grammatical and spelling errors, or articles that create no value to anyone. Remember the whole purpose is to give the reader something and show them that you are knowledgeable in your niche. That is what allows them to click.
