When choosing the perfect view for your home, there are many different options that you can choose from. The following are the different types of views available to those looking for more than just a picket fence to look at when looking out the window:

Lake Views – Similar to land that overlooks the ocean, Lake Views provide just as much serenity, but on a much smaller scale. However, unlike an ocean view, you have more options for water views as there are more lakes surrounding these types of properties. Typically, these properties are optimal value since people love to live near the water, as well as enjoy walking along the lake. You should take advantage of a piece of land like this.

Lake View Land – This particular type of view is not to be confused with lakefront views. Instead, the land overlooking a lake is exactly as the name implies, there is a lake nearby, but not on the lake shore. If you can’t land directly on the lake shore, this is the next best thing to buy. In some cases, you may only live a few blocks from the lake in question. Be careful though, as it is wise to only invest in these types of homes if you know development or expansion will occur in the area.

Ocean Views: These types of views, of course, are most sought after if you live in coastal areas like Southern California or in humid climates like Miami. When choosing this type of view, make sure the land is actually residential land that can be built on. These types of properties are one of the strongest investments you can make, as beachfront properties are the most sought after types of properties in real estate.

Ranch/Vista Property: These types of views require a large investment if you decide to purchase one. However, if you have the resources, you will produce a much higher return in the future if you put the right work into developing the land. Large lots, typically those that are one hundred acres in size and in close proximity to other development lots, are sound investments. However, be sure to budget accordingly, as it will require enough capital to develop this type of land before you see a return on your investment. Yet the view alone provides an air of peace and serenity for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Golf Course View – Not just for seniors, golf course views are another popular view homeowners look for when buying a home. There has been a growing trend of late to buy homes that are located on or near a popular golf course. If the golf course has a great reputation, you can expect to pay a large sum of money for your house; however, the return on your investment is really high if you decide to sell your house. Typically, homes with this type of view are purchased by avid golfers. For a golfer, the ability to walk a few minutes to the golf course is an added bonus, not to mention that it can seem like paradise, especially for retirees.
